Delete your Rite Bites account

This page lets you delete your account in the Rite Bites app. Rite Bites runs the loyalty scheme and is responsible for your data (the controller). The app is provided by Smart Loyalty, a service of Think X Intelligent Systems LTD, which runs it on the café's behalf (the processor).

How to delete your account

• In the app: open Account, tap Delete account, and confirm.
• On this page: enter the phone number and password you use in the app below, then tap 'Delete account'.

Can't sign in?

Email privacy@smartloyalty.ie with the subject 'Delete my Rite Bites account' and the phone number on your account. To make sure it is you, we will send a confirmation code to the phone number or email address on your account and ask you to reply with it. We will complete your request within one month.

What is deleted straight away

• Your account, including your password and app connection code.
• Your name, phone number and email address.
• All your stamps, rewards and vouchers.
• Your visit and activity history, in-app messages and any offers sent only to you.
• Your push notification ID and your marketing and notification consent settings.
• Copies of emails we sent to your email address.

What is kept

• We keep a short closure record (your old account number and the date you deleted) for 6 years, so we can show the request was done.

If we ever sent you a text message, the cost record for it is kept for the café's accounts, with the message text removed and no link to your details. Server logs are deleted after 14 days, and older copies in our backups are overwritten as the backups cycle; we never restore a deleted account from them.

When the deletion is done we send one final message to your email address (or by text if there is no email) to confirm it. We keep no copy of your details afterwards.
